A total of eight models will be displayed. Two feature models are the Audi Le Mans quattro, a concept car that was first introduced at the IAA (International Motor Show) in Frankfurt, and the Audi Pikes Peak quattro, a concept car first shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Another highlight of this year’s Audi stand is the new A8, Audi's flagship model that goes on sale in Japan from next spring. All of these cars demonstrate the future direction of Audi design.
quattro GmbH, a subsidiary of AUDI AG, will have
a corner for "Audi Exclusive", an individualization
program for providing tailor-made Audi cars to
customers. In addition to Audi Exclusive spec
models, exhibits of special exterior and interior
colors and trims will be featured.

Audi Le Mans quattro (concept car) |
Audi Le
Mans quattro, is concept car that was first unveiled
at the Frankfurt IAA (International Motor Show)
in September. A two-seater high performance mid-engine
sports car, the Le Mans quattro takes on the genes
of the Audi R8 that won the Le Mans 24-hour endurance
race three years in a row. This model is powered
by a 5.0 liter V10 DOHC bi-turbo engine that uses
FSI gasoline direct injection technology whose
performance was proven in the R8. It generates
a maximum output of 610ps/6,800rpm and maximum
torque of 750Nm/1,750 to 5,800rpm, accelerating
the car from zero to 100km/h in only 3.7 seconds.
Driven by quattro (Audi? permanent road-gripping
4WD system), the ASF aluminum body weighs 1,530kg
with a distribution of 40:60, front to rear. The
front design reflects Audi's characteristic single-frame
grille concept with large air intakes on both
sides, with LED headlights covered in clear glass. |

Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro (Audi exclusive version) |
The Audi TT, which takes its initials from "Tourist Trophy" - the legendary motor sports event held in Isle of Man in Britain - is a model that has established fame of its own with its unique design, which created a new paradigm in car design. As the flagship of the TT model line up, the Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro features a new 24-valve, V6 3.2-liter engine generating a maximum output of 250ps, and also adopts the innovative transmission technology DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox). The DSG combines the strong points of the traditional six-speed manual gearbox and the convenience of an automatic transmission for agile driving without interrupting the flow of power during shift changes.

Audi A8 4.2 quattro (Japan Premiere) |
 |
 |
 |
The new Audi A8 is the
Brand? flagship, and as such is loaded with technologies
that separate it from its rivals and suggest the
identity of Audi's future. As the embodiment of
Audi's philosophy of "Vorsprung durch Technik",
the A8 boasts sporty features, clear design, innovative
technology and the highest level of quality. A
4.2-liter V8 DOHC engine generates a maximum output
of 335ps (246kW), a maximum torque of 430Nm/3,500rpm,
and employs a newly developed six-speed Tiptronic
automatic transmission. Supporting the performance
and economy of this engine/transmission combination
is the lightweight aluminum ASF (Audi Space Frame)
concept.

Moreover, the
quattro system converts the A8's sporty engine performance
into excellent traction. An adaptive air suspension
with stepless variable damper is used in the new
Audi A8 to control body movement for enhanced road
holding and ride comfort. The new A8, with its outstanding
driving characteristics, can be said to be the ultimate
driver's sports saloon in the luxury D-segment.
But the reason for this is not limited to its dynamic
performance. The interior represents the epitome
of sophisticated luxury, and is equipped with a
leading-edge communication system called MMI (Multimedia
Interface), allowing the driver to focus on the
pleasure of driving by intuitively providing the
driver with accurate information. |

Technology Exhibit: RS6 Engine |
The 4.2-liter V8 DOHC bi-turbo engine created for the Audi RS6 generates a maximum output of 450ps (331kW) at 5,700 to 6,400rpm and a maximum torque of 560Nm in an astonishing rpm range of 1,950 to 5,600. The secret of the outstanding power is the twin-turbo chargers; twin inter-coolers optimize the super charge efficiency. The engine block is made of aluminum, with five valves per cylinder; three valves on the intake side and two on the exhaust side with locker bearing type locker arm lay out. The intake and exhaust ports have been tuned for ultimate power, and the air duct design has been designed for optimized intake and exhaust with twin-turbo chargers. Finally, the water-cooling system has been closely studied for best heat dissipation characteristics in relation to the combustion chamber and valve layout.
