The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (Chairman: Fumihiko Ike) will hold the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 using all halls at Tokyo Big Sight for 11 days from Thursday, October 29 through Sunday, November 8, 2015 (open to the public from 12:30 on Friday, October 30) under the theme of “Your heart will race.”

This will again be a comprehensive show that consists of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, carrozzeria, vehicle bodies, parts, machinery and tools, as well as automobile-related services.

All 14 manufacturers/15 brands of Japan and 17 manufacturers/27 brands from abroad (passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles) to exhibit

All 14 manufacturers/15 brands of domestic passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles will exhibit in this year’s show. From abroad, 17 manufacturers/27 brands will gather at Tokyo Big Sight, including four brands from FCA Group (Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep, Abarth(new)) returning to the show for the first time in eight years and DS Automobiles of France exhibiting for the first time.

The 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 overall will be larger in scale for exhibit area compared to the previous show.

The third installment of “SMART MOBILITY CITY 2015” will provide visitors with real experiences of the near-future “city of tomorrow.”

The organizer will present the themed project "SMART MOBILITY CITY 2015 (SMC2015)." This year will mark the third time this Tokyo Motor Show signature event is held.

Aiming to greatly evolve and transform the exhibit this year, exhibitors and the organizer will work closely in collaboration to create the near-future “city of tomorrow.” Advanced technology will be presented in a way easy to understand with a virtual train station and a research laboratory installed by the organizer, as well as with personal mobility and micro mobility test ride courses. Visitors will directly experience the new excitement, lifestyle changes, and further evolution of urban structures and social systems that future mobility will bring to our lives.

We will also examine the potential of attention-getting automated driving technology through exhibitions, test rides, and conferences.

Various measures to be implemented to reduce congestion and to improve convenience for visitors

While maintaining the show length (including press days), we will expand general public hours by more than half a day by opening the show to the public at 12:30 on Friday, October 30. We aim to improve services from the visitor perspective, such as adding a mobility option for visitors within the venue by operating a shuttle bus between the East and West Exhibition Halls and taking advantage of the autumn season dates by making the outdoor area available as rest space.

For the first time, we also plan to implement venue guidance using location-based information services by producing the “Tokyo Motor Show Original App (tentative name)” for smartphones.
