  • September 19, 2013

In a new initiative, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (Chairman: Akio Toyoda) will hold the “Odaiba Motor Festival” on November 16 (Sat) and 17 (Sun), the week before the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show 2013, as well as during the Show itself. This event will offer more opportunities for youth and families to come in contact with cars and motorcycles and directly sense their appeal.

This car and motorcycle event in the overall Odaiba area will extend our reach to a broader base of car and motorcycle fans. Our aim is to promote the automobile industry and Japan’s economy by extension, as well as to boost excitement for the Tokyo Motor Show.

An array of cars and motorcycles in one place: “ODAIBA Motor Parade”

<November 16 (Sat) 12:00-13:00 / NOP district start/finish>
This parade on public roads will mark the opening of the Odaiba Motor Festival. A diverse line-up ranging from classic legendary cars and motorcycles to racing cars will leave and return to the main venue (NOP district) of the Odaiba Motor Festival in a parade around Odaiba. Come and see the history of cars and motorcycles with your own eyes!

“Cirque de Mobi” car/motorcycle circus with mesmerizing world-class performers

<November 16 (Sat), 17 (Sun) / NOP district>
This is the main event of the Odaiba Motor Festival. A dynamic and mesmerizing circus-like car & motorcycle show will take place with full backing by “Team Orange,” a top-class performance team that is active internationally. The popular television character Gachapin will also make an appearance to add excitement to the show.

Events to communicate the fun of motorcycles: “Family Motorcycle Class” / “No-License School” / “Motorcycle Exhibit”

<November 16 (Sat), 17 (Sun) / NOP district>
Families will learn hands-on about the mechanism and fun of motorcycles to experience their appeal in this class. We will also offer a motorcycle experience school where even those without motorcycle licenses can take test-rides and an exhibit of the latest motorcycles.

MEGA WEB venue, packed with events

<November 16 (Sat), 17 (Sun), November 23 (Sat) – December 1 (Sun) / MEGA WEB>
MEGA WEB is a satellite venue of the Odaiba Motor Fes and will feature a myriad of events. Rare experiences can be enjoyed here, such as imported/domestic car test-rides and exhibits, talk shows, and an “Itasha (anime-decorated cars)” event.

Adorning the Odaiba area with cars and motorcycles: vehicle exhibits around the town

<November 16 (Sat), 17 (Sun), November 23 (Sat) – December 1 (Sun) / DiverCity, Center East Promenade, and more>
Vehicles will be on display in locations including the plaza in front of DiverCity, and Center and East Promenades. The Odaiba area will be colored with cars and motorcycles with itasha exhibits, owner get-togethers, and commercial vehicle displays.
